Jeff Cunningham trade to Isreal’s Maccabi...
I heard a rumor about a possible trade or sale of last years league top scorer Jeff Cunningham to Maccabi Netanya in Isreal. I don’t know anything about that team, or any Isreal team for that matter, but this still seems hard to beleive to me.
Could it be possible?

Claudio Reyna to join Red Bulls
Claudio Reyna’s contract has been terminated by Manchester City, leaving Reyna free to move back to his home in NY. With a home already in NY, and his old college and national team coach (Bruce Arena) coaching the New York Red Bulls, it seems likely that he would join the Red Bulls for next season.
It is too bad he couldn’t keep on with Manchester City, but it is good for the MLS to...

No Beckham at start of season
Recent reports claim that Beckham might get out of his contract at Real Madrid in time to be in LA for the beginning of the season due to the fact that their manager said he would never play for Real Madrid again. The CBC is reporting that this is not a possiblity:
The verdict is in: David Beckham will not be leaving Real Madrid for Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy before the end of...

Lots of big name clubs interested in Oguchi Onyewu
According to rumors flying all over the internet there are several really big name clubs interested in signing Oguchi Onyewu. The first was Fulham, and I was really pulling for them to get him. Now there are many others that could certainly dish out more money, and be more attractive for any player to go to:
Chelsea
Real Madrid
Middlesbrough
Inter Milan
Lyon
That is quite a list of...

Robbie Fowler could be another big name for MLS
Robbie Fowler has been told that he won’t be with Liverpool again next year. If he couldn’t play at Liverpool again he’d consider retiring from football, but a potential move to the MLS may change his mind. Somehow he has been connected with a move to DC United.
This is part of the article from the Sunday Mirror
ROBBIE Fowler is ready to follow David Beckham into MLS and join...

US scores 3 unanswered to down Denmark!
After giving up the first goal of the game the US fought back to tie the game before halftime, and then added a pair in the 2nd half to complete a 3-1 victory over a very inexperienced Denmark team.
Landon Donovan scored his frist goal in over 18 games with a poorly struck penalty that should have been saved, but it counts when it hits the back of the net, and it was enough to send the teams...

We’ve heard the Beckham rumor for a long time, not its a done deal. We’ve heard the Ronaldo rumor for a while, but this is a new one. Could Barcelona and Brazilian star Ronaldinho be the next big signing for the MLS.

What has Zidane been up to
Playing for Real Madrid of course. In case there are any MLS fans that don’t know about much outside the US, this is the team that David Beckham is coming from, one of the biggest clubs in the world.
So why am I writing about Zidane on the MLS Fan Blog? Cause we’ve got over 2 months until the start of the season and it was just too weird to pass up on.
Aparently Zidane is the...

Preki takes over Chivas
With Bob Bradley gone to the Olympic and Men’s National team the Chivas have given the top job to one of Bradley’s assistants and former MLS, US MNT star and one of my all time favorite players Preki.
Preki had an amazing career in Major League Soccer, most of it spent with the Kansas City Wizards along with one year with the Miami Fusion.
From the LA Times:
During 10 seasons in MLS,...

Dempsey is at Fulham
According to Fulham’s official site Clint Dempsey has made it onto the roster and it looks like he’s got #23 (my old number!). Here is the profile text listed for Clint on the Fulham site:
One of the most dynamic talents to come out of the US game, Dempsey is renowned for his creative attacking instincts and bravery in the air. The 23-year-old Texan scored seven goals in his first...

MLS Season Tickets Sales on the Rise
According to cbc.ca Toronto has sold over 10,000 season tickets for their brand new 20,000 seat soccer stadium. I would say that is pretty good numbers for a brand new team. Soccernet.com reports that most teams in the MLS are selling more season tickets after the announcement of David Beckham coming to play in Major League Soccer later this year. The Galaxy alone have nearly doubled their...

Edgar Davids making the move to MLS along with...
Just yesterday it was announced that David Beckham is coming to the MLS, and today there is rumor about Edgar Davids joining up with FC Dallas. Davids spent time Ajax, Juventus, and Barcelona, three of the top teams in their respective leagues, before coming to play for his current club Tottenham in the EPL.
This would be another huge signing for the MLS that I’m sure any FC Dallas fan...

David Beckham coming to LA Galaxy
David Beckham will be in a Galaxy jersey this fall. Over 5 years he will be making $250 million with the Galaxy, that will be the largest annual salary in American pro team sports history. All that money from a guy who had pretty much lost his starting spot on his current team Real Madrid in Spain.
It will be very interesting to see how Beckham becomes part of American soccer. I wonder if...

Fulham taking all the Americans they can get
The Boston Globe reports that the MLS has agreed to sell Clint Dempsey to Fulham of the EPL for an MLS record $4 million. It is too bad to see such a talent go, but its great to see that the MLS can produce such a talent that attracts attention from teams in one of the top leagues in the world.
Oguchi Onyewu is also reported to be making a possible move from his current club in Belgium to join...
